Atlantis | the haunting nostalgia | Henri Seroka

Atlantis | the haunting nostalgia | Henri Seroka

Atlantis has an aura of nostalgia and it serves as the source of inspiration for many creative workers down the ages. It is a highly debated myth-or-real kingdom of Greeks. As a Utopian, highly developed society (lost anyway!), it has inspired me to some extent. Now into the musicality of Henri Seroka’s Atlantis, Myths and Legends. Henri Seroka is a Belgium born composer whose fame spans in many fields in music and as many might know he is the composer of famous International films like Alice, The Art of Love and Ataturk.
The Album features 10 tracks and the names …read more

Eternal Egypt | Phil Thornton & Hossam Ramzy

Eternal Egypt | Phil Thornton & Hossam Ramzy

Phil Thornton & Hossam Ramzy are doing a good job in making available the rich tradition of Egypt through music. I’ve listened to their Immortal Egypt album and found myself transported to Egypt. I marvel at their music sense. But I’m not going to write about Immortal Egypt here nor appreciate their music sense, rather, write about Eternal Egypt, another album by the same pair.
Normally, when I make a purchase at Amazon, I tend to ignore the customer reviews at the time of purchase and after I listen to the music album, I’ d come back to same page …read more

Myths & Legends | David Arkenstone: Into the Ages of Egytian Mythology

Change is good. Let’s have a change. I have written much about New Age Music of Indian origin and there are many chances that it appeared New Age Music is all about Eastern. Let’s break it. I’m now to share with you the music of Classic Mythology.
Mido, if you like the Mummy film or enjoy playing Ages of Mythology game, then already you have developed an interest in myths. Myths and Legends by David Arkenstone is a good music album to develop your interest in mythology through music. The album comes in two cds, the second one being “mystery” version …read more

Bolo Hari Flavors–which one tastes good?

Bolo Hari Flavors–which one tastes good?

I’ve delayed enough time in posting about the Bolo Hari Remixes, so with no much ’small talks’, I’m straight to the topic.
Bolo Hari: Instant Pudding Remix by Dharma Dogz. Wow! the name sounds good isn’t it? Yes. But the track doesn’t, as the track has little to adore. Except for the name “Instant Pudding” the remix has nothing to attract my attention . Dogz pitiably calms down the passion of Bolo Hari (original) and nosily mixes up vocal, flute and percussion towards the middle of the track.
Bolo Hari: Bombay Lounge Remix by Maneesh de Moor is featured …read more

Bolo Hari Craze— “It gets me nowhere”

One of my friends who follows up my posts very closely, wrote me an email:
“Dear Shankar….. Bolo Hari Craze post lacks focal point…. It doesn’t get me anywhere after I read it….
I woulda liked if you’ve written something on the tracks”
I didnt reply my friend’s email. I thought of posting an open letter, instead:
Mido, in Bolo Hari Craze, I wanted to deal with the lyric and the charisma behind the name Radha. The post was too long for me to write about the tracks, though it was my initial plan.
Knowing about the meaning and love of Radha is essential, I …read more

The Bolo Hari Craze: Dance of Shakti to Dakini Lounge

The Bolo Hari Craze: Dance of Shakti to Dakini Lounge

Remixers are crazy over mixing the famous Bolo Hari track from Dance of Shakti. In my post on this album, I made a few reference to this track and its remixes. Now that, Mido, I ‘m to explore this craze-creating track here. The lyric (in Hindi Language) is just two line:
“Govinda Bolo Hari Gopala Bolo
Radha Ramana Hari Gopala Bolo”
It means, in simple translation, “enchant Hare Gopala (one of the many names of the Lord Vishnu) the dear one of Radha.”
Shall I proceed with this info? If I do, I’m missing the crux of the craze: Radha. It’s the …read more

My wrath over massacre of Bombay Pure by Assam,

in Kali Thunder: James Asher needs to pay for it!

Mido, just imagine this situation. How angry you’d be if the beauty of your beloved is distorted by some wannabe fashion designer! If you ask me, I’d attempt-torture that designer in a boiling oil well, at least, in my dream. If you could feel that anguish and wrath, you could understand my pain over Bombay Pure murder by Assam.
Am I confusing you, my Mido? Let me explain you how this staright away. Bombay Pure is one of my favorite tracks by Karunesh. It is featured in his album Global Spirit. Such …read more

The Elements: Musical approach to the existence

The Elements: Musical approach to the existence

This time I’m interested in writing about a series of music album The Elements: Wind, Fire, Space, Earth, Water.
India, China, Japan and most other Eastern countries have their own myth about these elements. In Indian mythology, these elements have a very special place: each represented by a god. If you haven’t heard the delicate music of these elements, probably listening to this music series should fix up the missing element in your ear . If you bet you already enjoy the elements, this series would definitely give you extra bonuses . Into the music now!
Released by Music Today, …read more

What’s for your Breakfast? Mine’s Zen

What’s for your Breakfast? Mine’s Zen

Mido, I like to talk in length about Zen Breakfast by Karunesh. But discussing every aspect of this album in a single post would drive you and me crazy alike. So I write a few for now and save the remaining for some other day.
Discography of Karunesh features some 18 albums and I’ve listened to most of them. All these albums can be grouped under two: “Dig your passion” and “Be Compassionate.” Zen Breakfast comes in the territory of “Be compassionate”. This music is soft with no metal or acoustics. It’s a kinda foil to his debut “Dig your Passion” …read more
