Rain Moods Celebration Week | Ekatman | Louis Banks

Rain Moods Celebration Week | Ekatman | Louis Banks

Best of Rain Moods
Isn’t it Rain a very beautiful “happening” in our world? Mido, Rain has so many moods in it and I enjoy most of these either drenching myself in water or by silently wacthing it over open windows (mostly with a situational music on the background). Music with rain is as perfect as a beer for a party! And so, LostinMusic (??… it’s me. no one else. strange introduction after becoming familiar with Mido!) is on an expedition to explore the various moods of rain in music and will be posting a Rain Mood a Day (it keeps …read more

Mythos Purity:: Multilayered Cake Piece

Mythos Purity:: Multilayered Cake Piece

Mido, one of my friends gifted me “PURITY” by Mythos (no special occasion though!), last week. She is a crazy fan of Mythos and wanted to know how I feel about Mythos’ latest album.
I read the liner notes of the album “Mythos provides a multi-layered musical experience that can be listened to on many levels.” And my own experience listening to this music album affirms that Purity is indeed mutli-layered (like a delicious cake!!).
Track Icarus caught hold of my senses at first listening than any other tracks. I like the fast beats and passionate keyboard music of this track. …read more

Love is in the Air | Music for Romance | Louis Banks

Love is in the Air | Music for Romance | Louis Banks

Sometimes I wonder if I’m just justifying album name or track name with the music (with my imagination extended when they don’t justify, naturally). Thank God! Louis Banks saves me from such guilty feeling. Wonder how? Simple, Mido. As simple as listening to his album Love is in the Air: Music for Romance – II and read my post calling it RomanceLess (RomanceNONE better and apt!)
Some of my Midos like my writing when I proscribe an album than when I prescribe. And sure enough, they are going to have a feast with this post. The album has 9 tracks …read more

Friendship is a natural feeling | All is One | Bindu

Friendship is a natural feeling | All is One | Bindu

Mido, I wish you all a very happy friendship day!
Today after talking with my friends with whom I had not talked for a long, I’m extremely happy! Surely a day such this unites friends amidst all the busyness that the world requires. I often have some of my friends ask me this question: “is a day to celebrate friendship actually necessary? are we not all the year sharing our love and celebrating?” Truthfully, many times we dont enjoy all the year. Life in this world is too tiresome for all of us that there is little time …read more

The Joy of Walking in Rain | Elements Water | Shivkumar Sharma

The Joy of Walking in Rain | Elements Water | Shivkumar Sharma

Writing about Music of the Seas, I feel it’d be appropriate to add another water theme music here. Elements Water by Shiv Kumar Sharma complements the Music of the Seas.
The album features 5 irregularly lengthy tracks
1. Ganga/Sangam
2.  Stillness of the Lake
3. Dewdrops
4. Walking in the Rain
5. Samudra Manthan
I like the track Walking in the Rain  (ya, I like walkin’ in rain, I mean, drenching me in it) and the Stillness of the Lake. Though I cannot correlate the actual walking in rain with the music, it does create a joy a similar to that. Santoor is the dominant instrument in …read more

Seas | An Epic in Music | Bhaskar Chandavarkar Part – II

Seas | An Epic in Music | Bhaskar Chandavarkar Part – II

For Catharsis
In my introductory post on Music of the Seas, I said “the album moves towards the shore rather than deep sea.” I stress this again. The album is not about different elemental music of Sea (sounds produced by water in the sea). Rather, it explorers the music of the life around the sea, music of the life that is centering on sea. It’s an Epic in music representing a mixture of feelings and a state of being for everyone.
For a fisherman, Sea is both the celebration and the funeral, with so many mysterious feelings in between. Today, I’d like …read more

Al Gromer Khan | Strangeness of Ambient Style

Al Gromer Khan | Strangeness of Ambient Style

Writing on Al Gromer Khan is a bit tough! Listening to his composition is still more tougher. Mido, not that I make fun of him (I paid him that tribute over there) but seriously speaking, it’s difficult to listen to his music without finding yourself doing some other (even, sleeping) largely ignoring the music. That’s not Gromer’s fault. His is ambient style New Age music and it’s how it is meant to be.
‘Ambient Music must be able to accommodate many levels of listening attention without enforcing one in particular; it must be as ignorable as it is interesting.’ — Brian …read more

Seas | An Epic in Music | Bhaskar Chandavarkar

Seas | An Epic in Music | Bhaskar Chandavarkar

Mido, today I’m writing on a very special music album (at least to me): Soundscapes, Music of the Seas, by Bhaskar Chandavarkar. Believe it or not, I’m listening to this album for almost 7 years in row (3 yrs non-stop, till the tape breathed its last, and 4 more years in cds till date at irregular intervals, but still often). Even today I listen to this album with the same pleasure (sometimes even more) with which I listened to it for the first time. Isn’t it special then, Mido? Yes, definetly. (not a great thing, I agree, for those who …read more
