New Age Music Scene in February

Frankly speaking, Inspiration for this post’s title came upon me by my fellow B5 Music blog: Brit Music Scene. Dave Parrack captures the music scenario prevails in Britain which I sometime envy at his blogging style and writing. Here, in this post I would like recall what has been covered in February month in newagevibe.

I’m back at my Oasis!

I’m back at my Oasis!

Midos, a few days before I was lamenting ‘water water everywhere not a drop to drink‘. Those of you who read that post, might have enjoyed or at least felt sympathy with this music devotee who was kept away from his favorite music. So it’s time for an update for those who enjoyed my lamenting or felt sympathy.
“I have restored my backups on my system and I am now enjoying my good old favorites with in a new familiarity. “
What do I mean by new familiarity? Let me answer you this way: Shakespeare says ‘familiarity breeds contempt’ and I cannot …read more

Who is Anaya? Isn’t it sounds like Enya?

Anaya, who is she? As soon as I saw this name I got struck with Enya. Quite for a moment my clever and seeming stupid mind thought, will she be Enya’s sister or has any connection with Enya?
But actually Anaya is a Brazilian Composer, performer, singer and producer with an international profile performing new age, ambient and world soundscapes. As an independent artist she has released 34 CDs which reflects her involvement of music therapy. She explains how music is for her:

“Music for me is the sound of light. Experiencing music is experiencing the holomonic uniqueness of being, the fourth …read more

Vengelis Lyric: So Long Ago, So Clear

Vengelis Lyric: So Long Ago, So Clear

Once, we did run
How we chased a million stars
and touched as only one can
Once, we did play
How the past delivered you
Amidst our youth we dreamed away, away
As if I knew the words I’m sure you’ll hear
Of how we met, as you recall
so clear
Once, we did love
Long ago how did I forget
Holding you so closely
Look, how I move
Chance would have me glance at you
To know how you move me
Me, all barriers all around us
As we hear of memories known
and betters so long ago,
so clear
[interlude]
Once, we did run
How we chased a million stars
And touched as only one can

Water water everywhere not a drop to drink!

Water water everywhere not a drop to drink!

I recently formatted my system to get rid of the mess that it had become lately and reinstalled everything. I took a backup of all my music collection in my friend’s hard disk and now, I have none of my favorite music with me (still to restore the backup). Today, another friend of mine came to meet me, with his portable hard disk with a considerable collection of music. I copied greedily all the albums to quench my music thirst, and alas I stand as Napoleon in a sea of music, not a drop to drink!

A special concert for Pregnant Moms and Babies

A special concert for Pregnant Moms and Babies

It’s interesting when I came to know a concert is dedicated to pregnant women and their babies on Sunday Feb.17 at Bogazici University. A famous Turkish pianist Anjelika Akbar (herself is pregnant) planned for this concert to please those city-ridden moms.
A believer in musical therapy, she said, “I believe specifically in big cities most pregnant women work and the best way to decrease their work stress is music.” Akbar’s repertoire on Sunday evening will consist of “the most peaceful and relaxing samples” of her classical repertoire. “During the concert I’ll improvise with the themes women inspire me with at that …read more
