New Age Vibe

A wonderful album composed and sung by Vijayaa Shanker. This is the first album of Vijayaa Shanker that I listen to and am quite taken by her voice and music. I recommend this album to my midos who like Sacred Chants of Shiva, by Banks of Ganges.

One of my favorite tracks in Siddharta I. Serene and meditative. I bought this album just after reading the novel Siddhartha by Herman Hesse and both the novel and music made me feel that I haven’t wasted my time with them.

Deva Premal’s Gayatri Mantra is the western rendering of the powerful eastern mantra. Gayatri mantra is called as the mother of all mantras and it basically asks for a good eye sight (inner eyes) for the chanter to see the world without illusions.

Mantra as such is very short– just four lines:
Om Bhur Bhuvah Svah,
Tat Savitur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasy Dimahi,
Dhiyo Yonah Pracho Dayat
Meaning::
Om: All of existence
Bhur: Coming, the physical world, vital energy

On April 25th Al Gromer Khan’s New album Negus has been released following his previous album Indian Music II – Tea Time Ragas which hit themarket on January 01, 2008. As all my midos knew, I often engage myself listening to new age albums or else will be hunting for new CD online. To give something unique and special treat to my ears, I was googling for new albums with couple of dollars from my paypal account. I won’t bother burning my pockets if the album is worth throwing some light on new musical experience.

In February I wrote a pre-release post on Music of Spheres with much ado from Mike about the music theory behind the music. I recently bought this album fascinated by the claims:
