An American composer and contemporary pianist Jim Brickman is well known for his romantic music and for his hit song Valentine. He explains what he feels of a live concert (performs more than 125 cities each year)

“I always think of my concerts as very theatrical. It’s a very inviting storytelling, intimate, living-room kind of concert. A lot of personality, a lot of great music, all the hits, a lot of relaxation, de-stressing, but also a lot of layered, funnier moments as well.

“After every concert, I send a thank-you to the people who came to the concert for coming, and a sort of added-value opportunity, a download they can’t get anywhere else. ‘Thank you for being there. Thank you for enjoying.”

“And so when a lot of my friends saw that I was, they said, ‘How do you do that? Why are your fans and friends so nice? Why do they appreciate you so much?”

“And I say, ‘Because I talk to them! And I don’t talk to them through my record company.”

A Sound of Harp from Israel

Her harp has found her a unique place in the music world. This Israel based artist goes beyond crosses the genres of Jewish music, Celtic music, New Age Music and World Music with her .

She frequently hits United States and Europe to conduct workshops, master classes and live concerts. It’s none other than Sunita Staneslow who is an international artist known for her Celtic and Jewish music.

Sunita recently conducted two harp workshop sessions from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 9 in the Music Loft at Hobgoblin. Many enjoyed the work shop and it’s so beautiful to string the harp. Actually I dream often to harp ancient songs (wondering, will it be dream-come-true desire?). I hope next time I wont miss Sunita’s Workshop.

Jean-Michel Jarre celebrates Oxygène’s 30th anniversary in Royal Albert Hall

Jean Michel Jarre has announced his very special performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall in celebration of the 30th anniversary of his album Oxygène. He will perform tracks from his masterpiece Oxygène in its entirety for his fans in London on Sunday 30th March 2008.

While speaking about the concert Jean says, “I’ve composed on extraordinary instruments, part of electronic music mythology as Stradivarius was for classical music or Fender Telecaster was for rock music.”

“I wanted the public to discover those and I am so excited about performing for the fans in London.”

This pioneers Electronic and New age artist will set his London show backed by three French musicians: French Musicians Francis Rimbert, Claude Samard & Dominique Perrier. David Lanz performs at Stamford Center on Feb02

Grammy-nominated New Age pianist David Lanz arrives at Stamford Center for the Arts’ Rich Forum Theatre on Feb. 2 at 8 p.m for a performance. His most popular album Cristofori’s Dream topped the billboard new age chat in 1988 for about 27 weeks. With his 20 years of New Age music movement, he has produced 13 excellent albums till date which have been inspiration for many newagers.

Prior to his Stamford visit, David Lanz hits a show on Feb01 at The Grand Opera House, 818 North Market St. Wilmington, Del. The ticket cost 28$ to 33$. Its very common to see Lanz adding jokes, anecdotes and his inspiration behind his music during his concert performances. I’m eager to hear his soothing strokes and funny comments as well.
