Listen to Under the Bodhi Tree by Jonathan Still

Listen to Under the Bodhi Tree by Jonathan Still

Jonathan Still, classical guitarist and composer, makes me no wonder in producing so relaxing and peaceful album “Under the Bodhi Tree” for he came from a musical family. If he missed mom teaching him piano sure he would hear his sister play them on. That’s how Jonathan gets himself into music. Jonathan has composed and produced music for television and radio advertisements, music libraries, and independent movies and documentaries.

It was a fun experience which pushed him to record a second album which would eventually be known to the world as ‘Under the Bodhi Tree.’ The album picked up where the …read more

Kitaro brings Music from Nature

Kitaro brings Music from Nature

Kitaro,Japanese composer and multi-instrumentalist, has gifted us highly melodic synthesizer music often associated with the new-age. He says of teaching himself, “I never had education in music, I just learned to trust my ears and my feelings.” He gives credit for his creations to a power beyond himself. “This music is not from my mind,” he said. “It is from heaven, going through my body and out my fingers through composing. Sometimes I wonder. I never practice. I don’t read or write music, but my fingers move. I wonder, ‘Who’s song is this?’ I write my songs, but they are …read more

Enya Ends, Jillian Goldin Begins

Enya Ends, Jillian Goldin Begins

RJ Lannan of New Age Reporter compares Jillian Goldin with Enya. In a review of Jillian Goldin’s Origins, he says
“Where Enya Brennan left off, Jillian Goldin could make a good beginning. Enya is noted for her ethereal vocals that are enveloped in New Age and Celtic themes. Jillian Goldin takes wing and soars aloft on her new album Origins, aptly named as her first foray into the genre. [...] Her voice is warm and her delivery is that of a friendly musical raconteur that will appeal to a vast audience. I can’t wait for the next album.”
I’m a big fan …read more

When it comes to the power of flute, there is none to rival Pandit Hariprasad. He is well known as the maestro of flute and Indian classical music. Panditji is celebrating his 70th Birthday on July 1st and his fans and students have started wishing him a month ahead.
Apart from the divine music he plays, what I like very much about him is his perception of music and the value he gives to music. These are best explained by his own words.
My Practice is my pooja. My Sargam and scales are my mantra. Power of God is what I try …read more

Music for Sex & Romance: Henry Marshall

Music for Sex & Romance: Henry Marshall

Be my Goddess,
True and honest
Let your beauty shine…
Feel the passion,
Love in action
Our union is Divine…
That’s my favorite song of this beautiful music album Mantras for Lovers. Sung by Rickie Moore and Henry Marshall, the song seems to be a beautiful romance between Shiva and Shakti. Henry’s voice is terrific!!!! You need to listen to appreciate the earthy voice of Henry which to an untuned ear may seem ghastly. Rickie voice is lovely and floating on air, balancing the earthly Henry’s.
I like each and every song of this album. Mood is very romantic. If you have good understanding of love and …read more

Worst of New Age So Far | Girish

Worst of New Age So Far | Girish

I have listened to countless new age music albums, ranging from the old pure devotional songs, which has nothing ‘new’ to it, yet calling ‘new age’, to the most modern remixes which has nothing of the ‘new age spirit’. Yet there has been no worse music than Girish’s Shiva Machine in the new age genre so far I have listened to.
But there are reviews in all praise for this junk-food album.
Pushing the limits of the chant music genre in the most brilliant way Girish is a dynamic and exciting artist. –Aura Magazine
“Masterpiece” is not too strong a term for this …read more
