Idina Menzel, Tony Award Winner and Singer & Songwriter, will appear at Virgin Megastore Time Square to celebrate the release of her new album I Stand at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, January 29. She is expected to perform few songs out of 10 tracks and CD copies will be signed by the star herself.

Inina Menzel says “I’ve always wanted to do this,” Menzel says. “It just happened to be that I got the opportunity to do ‘Rent,’ and so my life took that turn. But I’ve been writing songs since I was a teenager.”

Though “I Stand” isn’t her first studio album, Menzel calls “I Stand” as the first true reflection of her artistic sensibility. (She debuted in “Still I Can’t Be Still” at 1998 which sold 15,000 copies in US according to Nielsen SoundScan)

“My only goal was that I wasn’t going to make an album based on show tunes…I knew I wanted to do something more mainstream.”
