We have started our own music blog site, Music Kafe (www.musickafe.com),

(overnight?? no… at all… this site was sleeping a year long, but now we have redesigned it and made it usable). At Music Kafe, we will continue discussing, reviewing and interviewing new age, world, ambient and instrumental music and musicians.

We expect your support to Music Kafe and keep up the healthy conversations via comments and email with us. Also, we intend to make Music Kafe much more than a blog. We want it to be a place where all artists can interact with their fans, give a promotional music track once in a while, share some interesting things in their life that as fans we want to know…

Recently I read an interview of Steven Halpern by Diana deRegnier. When asked what influenced him to composer in this genre, Steven Halpern gave a nice history of his influences which made me know more about his background and music. What took me to read through the Interview is the gorgeous title “New Age Music Grows Up”. Many thanks for Diana deRegnier for throwing us a great interview with Steven Halpern. A small part of the conversation follows.

“What I saw when I brought my first album into stores was that there was an audience looking for music that nurtured body, mind, spirit that wasn’t just looking for music for entertainment. My initial album that dealt with balancing the chakras as a very profound yet simple psycho-technology for enhancing coherence, getting people into an alpha brainwave state and really assisting bodies in healing themselves, kicked off the entire field that became known as New Age, and the sub-genre has always been healing music.”

If you are one like me who is mesmerized by Gandalf’s Lotus Land, you may like Sacred River by Gandalf. Restful mood, relaxing and soothing feel are the subtle experience of this third domestic release of Gandalf whose music brings some sort of serenity.
