My strange connection with Dylan Thomas
Yesterday, I wrote on my favorite chill out Just Good Music. And I said
You can feel the European aura throughout this album and though I don’t understand the lyrics (and cannot make out whether it is French or Spanish or Italian or some other) the music gives me a soothing flashback feel
Leave about the European feel, for now. I have the soothing flashback feel listening to this album. Strangely, my favorite ‘Poem in October’ by Dylan Thomas seems to occupy mind. I like these lines so much, and now listening to this music album, I began to like these lines more.
And I saw in the turning so clearly a child’s
Forgotten mornings when he walked with his mother
Through the parables
Of sunlight
And the legends of the green chapelsAnd the twice told fields of infancy
That his tears burned my cheeks and his heart moved in mine.
These were the woods the river and the sea
Where a boy
In the listening
Summertime of the dead whispered the truth of his joy
To the trees and the stones and the fish in the tide.
And the mystery
Sang alive
Still in the water and singing birds.
