Mudra remixes in Shiva Moon | Prem Joshua & Maneesh de Moor

Prem Joshua is back on my playlist after a long time… Maybe I listened to his albums too much for too long that I had kept his albums aside for sometime. Now he is again on my playlist. Many times I have said in my blog that his music album Mudra is one that I like so much and I rank it #1. And recently I began to love listening to his remix album Shiva Moon next to Mudra. Remixed by Maneesh de Moor, Shiva Moon contains some of the best remixes of Mudra, other compositions of Prem Joshua and three previously unreleased tracks.

Sandhya Sanjana, female singer, is known well for her sultry voice that mixes naturally with jazz and loungy music and has voiced for the remix of Darbari. Maneesh De Moor’s lounge remix of these Mudra tracks add a new dimension to the composition of Prem Joshua. Shiva Moon I & II as appeared in Mudra take a new form here yet preserve the mood and solacing nature of Prem Joshua’s Original composition. Saffron Dreams is yet another track in which Sandhya Sanjana’s sultry voice captures attention. I personally felt little disappointed to see my favorite (you could say very very…) track Road to Solaia not being remixed in Shiva Moon. I’d love to listen how Maneesh would remix this one, as I have a feeling that Road to Solaia can be made no better.

If you have listened to Mudra, Shiva Moon would compliment it and vice versa.

Bolo Hari Craze— “It gets me nowhere”

One of my friends who follows up my posts very closely, wrote me an email:

“Dear Shankar….. Bolo Hari Craze post lacks focal point…. It doesn’t get me anywhere after I read it….
I woulda liked if you’ve written something on the tracks”

I didnt reply my friend’s email. I thought of posting an open letter, instead:

Mido, in Bolo Hari Craze, I wanted to deal with the lyric and the charisma behind the name Radha. The post was too long for me to write about the tracks, though it was my initial plan.

Knowing about the meaning and love of Radha is essential, I feel, to enjoy all the Bolo Hari remixes. It is only this knowledge that can set you in appropriate mood while you listen to them. Maybe the numerous reference I made in the post, to achieve this end, woulda made you feel “getting you nowhere” and seemed to be “without focal point”. Thanks for your critique, anyway. I do welcome such comments.

The Bolo Hari Craze: Dance of Shakti to Dakini Lounge

Remixers are crazy over mixing the famous Bolo Hari track from Dance of Shakti. In my post on this album, I made a few reference to this track and its remixes. Now that, Mido, I ‘m to explore this craze-creating track here. The lyric (in Hindi Language) is just two line:

“Govinda Bolo Hari Gopala Bolo
Radha Ramana Hari Gopala Bolo”

It means, in simple translation, “enchant Hare Gopala (one of the many names of the Lord Vishnu) the dear one of Radha.”

Shall I proceed with this info? If I do, I’m missing the crux of the craze: Radha. It’s the mention of her name that creates the craze and the beauty to this song. Who is she? Radha is one of the many lovers of Lord Krishna (don’t be confused, Mido, these names Krishna, Gopala, Govinda and many others refer one and the same.) She is said to be the foremost of all 18,000 cowherd-girls with whom Krishna had a nice time in his childhood. What a boon!

A little reading on her would greatly help you feel the pulse of Bolo Hari which is otherwise taken just for its outer beauty. So it’s these that add glamor to Bolo Hari track than the Gossips that I unknowingly gossiped (like every gossiper!).
